Three weeks later, a Democratic staff report from the House Energy and Commerce Committee — titled “TrumpRx: Big Talk, Little Savings” — concluded that for nearly half the drugs listed, the site’s “world’s lowest prices” claim is either misleading or outright false. Discounts apply mainly to cash-paying or uninsured patients
Most insured patients do not pay the list price of a drug — they pay a co-pay set by their insurer. TrumpRx discounts are cash-pay prices and cannot typically be combined with insurance, meaning they don’t count toward annual deductibles or out-of-pocket maximums.

GLP-1 drugs (Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound) are the clearest exception
Many anti-obesity and diabetes injectables are not covered by most insurers. For patients paying out-of-pocket for these drugs, the TrumpRx MFN prices — some as low as $199/month — are a meaningful reduction from list prices exceeding $1,000. Lilly’s MFN agreement also expanded Medicare access for obesity treatments for certain populations.
