Nissan has confirmed the Pixo name for a new compact electric car due in UK showrooms in late 2026. What Car? reports an estimated starting price of about £17,000, putting the car in the budget city-EV lane rather than the premium electric market.
The Pixo will be a sister car to the Renault Twingo Electric. It is expected to share the same proportions and key hardware, while using Nissan styling such as a v-shaped front grille and rounded LED headlights.
The expected package includes a 27.5kWh battery and an 80bhp motor. What Car? says the Twingo’s official range is up to 163 miles, so the Pixo is expected to sit around the same level. Charging speeds of up to 50kW would allow a 10-80% top-up in about half an hour.
Nissan’s own newsroom page on the Pixo name confirmation lists the model inside its next small-electric-car push, while industry coverage says production will take place at Renault’s Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia. The model sits inside the reworked Renault-Nissan partnership, where both companies now hold mutual 15% stakes.
Karmactive has recently covered small EV demand through BYD’s Racco orders in Japan and larger electric crossovers such as the Polestar 4. The Pixo angle is smaller and more practical: whether a city EV can keep price, range and charging simple enough for urban buyers.
