Two separate NHTSA safety campaigns now cover certain Ford F-150 pickup trucks in the United States, spanning model years 2023 through 2027. The campaigns address entirely distinct vehicle systems — one targets fuel tank attachment, the other front seat mounting — and each covers its own group of affected vehicle identification numbers. Owners should check their VIN against both campaigns independently.
Campaign 26V578000, Ford internal number 26S69, covers certain 2023–2027 F-150 trucks. According to NHTSA records, the fuel tank in these vehicles may be improperly secured and could either leak fuel or detach from the vehicle. Dealers will inspect the fuel tank mounting straps and replace them if needed at no cost to the owner. Ford mailed owner notification letters on 21 September 2026. VINs covered by this campaign were searchable through NHTSA’s recall portal beginning 14 September 2026.
Campaign 26V655000, Ford internal number 26S74, covers certain 2025–2027 F-150 trucks. According to NHTSA records, the front seats may be improperly secured. Dealers will inspect the seat mounting bolts and tighten or replace them at no charge. Owner notification letters for this campaign are expected to be mailed on 26 October 2026. VINs were searchable through NHTSA beginning 9 October 2026.
Both repairs are performed free by Ford dealers. The VIN lookup is already live for both campaigns. Check each campaign number separately at NHTSA’s recall portal, or call Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Because the two campaigns cover distinct vehicle populations, a truck matched to one may not appear in the other; verify both with your VIN.

Why are Ford F-150 trucks being recalled?
Two active NHTSA campaigns affect certain F-150 pickups. Campaign 26V578 covers some 2023–2027 models where the fuel tank may be improperly secured, creating a risk of fuel leakage or tank detachment. Campaign 26V655 covers some 2025–2027 models where the front seats may be improperly secured. Both repairs are handled by Ford dealers at no cost. Owners can confirm coverage by searching their VIN at NHTSA’s recall portal or calling Ford at 1-866-436-7332.
