Seen the headline about another Ram recall? Check your VIN first, because only five trucks are involved.

The recall covers five 2026 Ram 1500 pickups built between February 28 and May 18, 2026. NHTSA campaign number 26V622, also known as Chrysler recall 94D, concerns an electrical connector for the driver and front passenger side airbags that may not be secured properly. That could prevent the airbags from deploying as intended in a crash.

If you own a 2026 Ram 1500, enter your 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) at nhtsa.gov/recalls. VINs for this recall became searchable on October 6, 2026. If your VIN matches, contact your dealer to schedule the free repair. If it does not match, it is not included in this campaign as of the lookup date.

How to check and what the fix is

How do I check if my truck is included in the Ram recall? Go to NHTSA's recall lookup at nhtsa.gov/recalls and type in your VIN. Because only five trucks are involved, the tool will quickly confirm whether your vehicle needs service.

The recall covers the connection between the seat wiring harness and the seat airbag, or between that harness and the vehicle's body wiring. FCA US says the affected vehicles fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 208, on occupant crash protection, and 214, on side impact protection. Chrysler customer service can be reached at 800-853-1403, referencing recall 94D.

Earlier draft claims about a single Sterling Heights shift, a miscalibrated harness tool, damaged retaining clips, exact owner-letter timing, absence of warranty claims and two-quarter completion reports were not verified and have been removed.
