Fi is recalling two dog supplements because of possible Salmonella contamination tied to an ingredient supplied to its manufacturer. The manufacturer has suspended operations while the issue is investigated.
The FDA-posted company notice identifies Fi Calming Supplement for Dogs, 180 g, lot 26118, UPC 8 50064 80011 1, and Fi 8-in-1 Formula Supplement for Dogs, 180 g, lot 26159, UPC 8 50055 11168 4.
The products were sold directly to consumers and through Amazon and Chewy. The company told customers to stop using the recalled lots and dispose of them. Fi said affected customers were being notified directly.
Salmonella can affect dogs and people handling the product or animal waste. Pets may show lethargy, diarrhea, fever or vomiting, but animals without visible illness can still spread the bacteria. Karmactive has covered a previous dog food Salmonella recall and related bacterial illness risks.
Customers with questions can contact Fi at 1-888-434-3647 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time or by email at support@tryfi.com. Adverse events can be reported to the FDA’s veterinary reporting program.
