Ather Energy has delayed the launch and delivery of its entry-level Konarc variant to the fourth quarter of FY2027—January to March 2027. The variant starts at ₹99,999, according to Ather’s official Konarc FAQ.
Automotive reporting said the delay was made to protect margins amid production constraints. Ather’s Q2 FY27 update said pre-orders more than doubled year on year to about 1.80 lakh, while the Hosur plant operated at up to 98% capacity utilisation during peak production.
Average monthly production stood at about 33,000 units during the quarter, according to Autocar India’s report on the company’s update. Ather said demand exceeded available production capacity.
Buyers waiting for the entry-level ₹99,999 Konarc should therefore expect delivery in Q4 FY27 rather than the originally announced Q1 FY27 timeline. Ather’s official FAQ identifies the Konarc S 100-km variant for Q4 FY27; buyers should confirm the exact variant, price and delivery schedule with Ather or an authorised dealer before booking.
Capacity and Financial Results
Ather’s board approved ₹122 crore to add 2.25 lakh units of annual production capacity across Hosur and AURIC. Of this, up to ₹58 crore is for Hosur, raising annual capacity from 4.2 lakh to 4.95 lakh units by December 2026.
The remaining ₹64 crore is for the AURIC facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. AURIC is scheduled to begin commercial production in phases from December 2026, with Phase 1 having an annual capacity of 5 lakh units.
These additions are expected to take Ather’s combined installed annual capacity from about 9.2 lakh units to approximately 11.4 lakh units by Q2 FY28. The company’s earnings presentation gives the combined figure as approximately 11.4 lakh units; some automotive reports round it to 11.45 lakh.
Ather reported consolidated total income of ₹1,527 crore for Q2 FY27, up 62% year on year, with volumes up 42% to 93,211 units. Reporting on the company’s results also put consolidated net profit at ₹1.26 crore, against a loss in the year-earlier quarter. EBITDA margin improved by about 1,450 basis points year on year to 4.9%.
The Ather Konarc entry-level delivery delay is therefore linked to a period in which demand and production capacity are tightly matched. The company has disclosed the capacity expansion and the Q4 FY27 timing for the entry variant; it has not publicly provided a detailed model-by-model delivery queue or a confirmed date for individual bookings.
Ather says AURIC will begin commercial production in phases from December 2026. That is a company timeline, not a confirmed start date for every production line or every customer delivery.
When will the entry-level Ather Konarc be delivered in India?
Ather has pushed the entry-level Konarc variant, priced from ₹99,999, to Q4 FY27—January to March 2027. The company reported about 1.80 lakh pre-orders in Q2 FY27 and said demand exceeded available production capacity. Its AURIC plant is scheduled to begin phased commercial production from December 2026.
