## Stage 3b Notes (not for publication)

Conflicts in Stage 3a and the choice made

– Story 6 (Brent): Stage 3a’s first section corroborates Brent near $115. Its second section gives $109.45 on Monday, with $114.52 earlier in the session. I used the second section, because it gives the dated figure and its source. – Story 7 (SBI): Stage 3a’s first section says SBI revised the 444-day rate to 6.60% effective June 15, 2025. Its second section says the 7.25% and 7.75% rates match a July 2024 circular. I used the June 2025 revision, because it is the later official change. – Story 13 (temperatures): Stage 3a’s first section gives IMD’s October 26 minimums (0.6°C, 0.2°C, 3.3°C) and says the sub-zero claim is unsupported. Its second section gives October 25 media readings (−0.4°C, −0.3°C) and calls the first sub-zero night “correct”. I used the IMD October 26 figures, because they are the official daily report. – Story 5 (“fourth term”): Stage 3a confirms “fourth term” with a BBC source, so I restored the wording I had changed earlier. – Story 1 (IMD bulletin): Stage 3a says the bulletin’s issue time is unverified and the bulletins it found were timed 5:30 AM. I removed the bulletin number and time.

Removed without replacement

Where Stage 3a flagged a claim as unsupported or unverified, I removed it rather than rewriting it. These include the Cyclone Arnab shelter count, sea temperatures and tidal claims, the NH-16 and power-cut deadlines, the JEE syllabus and identity-document rules, the PM-Kisan post-office deadline and paused-payment claims, the Tamil Nadu magistrate and make-up-day claims, the Brazil policy forecasts, the crude-oil refiner and inventory claims, the ghee composition and price claims, the ITBP tender specifications and bidder names, the gas output, NOAA and LNG claims, the BYD high-speed and limp-mode claims, and the Kashmir black-ice, apple and Ladakh-pass claims.

Irreplicable observations were removed in most stories because they rested on unverified claims. Stories 1 and 4 had their observations replaced by supported facts.

Scope: This is the Stage 3a report applied as written, as you asked. I did not re-verify the sources, and the conflicts above show the report is not internally consistent. The Stage 3a report’s own final check says some items still need primary documents before publication.

Process check: All 13 stories were processed. Each Stage 3a correction was applied, and each unsupported item was removed or reworded. Headlines and meta descriptions were updated where they carried a changed or removed claim. Internal links were not audited, as Stage 3a requested, and they remain placeholder slugs.
