An electricity-supply failure between Stevenage and Finsbury Park disrupted services between London King’s Cross and destinations including York on 18 September. Network Rail and electricity suppliers were working to restore power. Cancellations and significant delays were expected to continue until at least midday, according to National Rail citing Network Rail.

LNER services between York and London King’s Cross are among those affected. Grand Central and Hull Trains services on the East Coast Main Line also face disruption. When power is lost on this route, services face immediate disruption. Passengers should check current information with their operator.

Rail passengers travelling between Yorkshire and London King’s Cross should expect disruptions and check for ticket acceptance on other operators. Delay Repay compensation is available, but the level depends on the operator and the delay length; it is not automatically a full-fare refund after 30 minutes. Affected ticket holders should photograph delay notices, retain physical or digital tickets, and check the relevant operator’s Delay Repay policy.

For the latest updates on restoration times and service status, check the National Rail live departures board or the LNER service updates page. Network Rail had not confirmed a final restoration time as of the time of publication.
