If you farm rainfed land in Dhar or Jhabua, two things matter this season. Will your crop insurance money reach your bank, and will irrigation water reach your field? Madhya Pradesh’s government has moved on both fronts.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the Narmada–Jhabua–Petlawad–Thandla–Sardarpur micro-lift irrigation project in Sardarpur, Dhar, on October 24. The project cost is ₹2,387.60 crore. It covers 57,422 hectares in 260 villages, 66 in Dhar and 194 in Jhabua, for about 72,000 farmers. It lifts Narmada water at Chandankhedi, Kukshi tehsil, and releases it into the Mahi.

The project is a micro-lift irrigation scheme that uses pumps to lift water for irrigation in Dhar and Jhabua.

Separately, ₹317.86 crore in crop insurance compensation under PM Fasal Bima Yojana has been transferred. The payout covers 16.70 lakh recipients.

Farmers in Dhar and Jhabua should check their registered bank accounts for the crop insurance transfer. Eligibility and claim amounts depend on the PM Fasal Bima Yojana rules, the notified crop and area, and the loss assessment.

The ₹317.86 crore insurance transfer and the micro-lift project are separate initiatives. Farmers should check their bank accounts and crop loss records with the district agriculture office.
