Thinking about buying a Jetta M6 EV? The joint venture behind the car says it passed 10,000 “locked orders” within 19 hours of its launch. A locked order carries a financial commitment, and the range figures need a closer read before you put down a deposit. Here is what each figure means in plain terms, and where the numbers stop short.
FAW-Volkswagen launched the Jetta M6 EV in China on 22 October 2026. The figures come from the joint venture’s own launch announcement, as quoted by CarNewsChina in a report dated 24 October. CnEVPost and electrive are corroborating trade outlets for the Jetta M6 launch. The M6 is the first electric model from Jetta, a budget brand for the Chinese market. Prices run from 79,800 to 99,800 yuan. A locked order means the buyer cannot back out without losing their deposit, usually 3,000 to 5,000 yuan (about US$450 to US$650). Jetta is not the same as Volkswagen’s global sedan of the same name. The Jetta brand takes its name from that sedan’s 30-plus years on sale in China, and it previously offered only combustion-engine models.
The Jetta M6 starts at 79,800 yuan. Buyers on a locked order who back out lose a deposit, usually 3,000 to 5,000 yuan (US$450 to US$650). The entry model’s 465 km is a CLTC rating, which CarNewsChina converts to roughly 377 km on WLTP. The figures given are rated CLTC figures and their WLTP conversions. Check the range and the trim you want before you pay a deposit, not after.
Locked orders and CLTC range figures
The joint venture’s 10,000 figure counts locked orders. Buyers who back out lose their deposit, usually 3,000 to 5,000 yuan (about US$450 to US$650). The research gives no figure for cars built or delivered. The entry model pairs a 113 kW (152 hp) front motor with a 42.9 kWh LFP battery, rated at 465 km on CLTC, about 377 km on WLTP. Higher trims use a 145 kW (194 hp) front motor, which cuts 0-100 km/h from 8.3 seconds to 6.8 seconds. They also carry a 51.9 kWh battery rated at 555 km CLTC, about 450 km WLTP. CALB supplies both pack types, and every trim is front-wheel drive.
The top trim offers advanced L2 driver assistance. The marque says it runs on Horizon Robotics’ Journey 6M chip with the “GAIA 2.0 World Model”, and handles urban and high-speed driving scenarios. FAW-Volkswagen has also promised to compensate owners for all assisted-driving incidents and collisions in the first year of ownership. Other features include V2L power of up to 3.5 kW and a built-in double bed, made by folding both front seats flat. Most EV sedans in the M6’s price range are used as rideshare cabs in China.

What is the Jetta M6 range? The entry model is rated at 465 km on the CLTC test, which CarNewsChina converts to about 377 km on WLTP. The larger 51.9 kWh battery is rated at 555 km CLTC, or about 450 km WLTP. These are rated figures, not road results. Both figures are the manufacturer’s own CLTC claims, so treat neither as a promise of what you will get on the road. To compare trims, start with battery size, then check which rating a seller quotes.
The Jetta M6 EV launched in China on 22 October, and the joint venture reports more than 10,000 locked orders in 19 hours. The research gives no delivery figure. The next figure to watch is how many cars reach buyers. Until then, the entry price, the deposit terms and the CLTC rating are the numbers to check.
