Gateside by TSA PreCheck lets eligible non-travellers apply to pass through airport security and visit terminal gate areas without a boarding pass. It is separate from flying with TSA PreCheck, and approval is required before a visitor goes to the airport.
What TSA Currently Lists
TSA currently lists 13 Gateside airports: Phoenix-Mesa Gateway, John Glenn Columbus International, Dallas/Fort Worth International, Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County, Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National, Indianapolis International, Harry Reid International, Los Angeles International, Bill and Hillary Clinton National, Will Rogers World, Eppley Airfield, San Diego International and Salt Lake City International.
Eligible visitors must have TSA PreCheck and apply one to three days before a visit. TSA says the service is free, availability can be limited at busy times, and a pass remains subject to screening, airport rules and federal regulations.
Denver and Norfolk
Reporting from Denver and Norfolk said an expansion beyond the original 13 airports was pulled back after those airports briefly appeared in the programme. The current TSA list does not include either airport. TSA had not published a separate explanation for the reported rollback in the material reviewed.
The official page confirms the current 13-airport footprint. It does not say why wider access was reduced, whether the change is permanent, or how any earlier approval was handled.
Before Visiting an Airport
A Gateside pass is not a right to enter a secure area. Visitors should check TSA’s current Gateside application page and the individual airport’s notices before making plans. The change does not alter ordinary TSA PreCheck rules for ticketed passengers using regular security lanes.
