Ford has issued a safety recall covering 565,691 Bronco and Bronco Raptor vehicles from model years 2021 through 2026, citing a wiring defect that can cause engine compartment fires. This is among the largest safety actions Ford has taken on a single nameplate in recent years.
The problem sits in the engine compartment wiring harness. Insufficient protective covering can allow wires to chafe and short-circuit, generating heat on the passenger side of the engine bay. The remedy is simple: dealerships install new protective covers over the wiring harness free of charge. Dealer notifications went out July 23, 2026; owner letters follow between August 24 and 28, 2026. The full remedy is expected to be available at dealers by November 2026, meaning some affected trucks will remain on the road for several months before repairs are complete.
