YouTube TV is making changes to its channel lineup starting September 30, 2026. Three networks will disappear from the service: Court TV, Tastemade, and The Young Turks. The company isn’t lowering its subscription price despite removing these channels, which currently costs $82.99 per month after promotional periods end.
Court TV focuses on legal documentaries and coverage. Tastemade produces food and lifestyle content. The Young Turks provides progressive news and commentary. All three networks have built audiences over time, so their removal might frustrate subscribers who watch them regularly.
Streaming services constantly negotiate with networks over retransmission fees. When negotiations stall or companies decide fees are too high, channels get dropped. This is similar to cable TV disputes where channels disappear when contracts end without agreement on pricing. YouTube TV has been shifting toward a model where it offers channels people actually watch instead of bundling everything together.
The good news is that viewers won’t completely lose access. Court TV streams free on Pluto TV and other ad-supported platforms. Tastemade has its own app and streams free content there. The Young Turks broadcasts continuously on YouTube and through their independent streaming service. So people can still watch these networks, just not through YouTube TV itself.
This move fits a bigger trend. YouTube announced over 10 genre-focused TV plans throughout 2026, including specific packages for sports, news, and entertainment. Instead of paying for 100+ channels where you watch only 10, YouTube TV subscribers might eventually choose smaller packages matching their actual interests. It’s like switching from an all-you-can-eat restaurant to a menu where you pick what you really want.
For YouTube TV subscribers, the key question becomes whether losing these three channels makes the service less valuable. Current subscribers should check if they actually watch these channels before deciding whether to stay. The platform currently offers 100+ networks in its standard package.
