Solidcore built its name around one hard, slow, resistance-based class. Ascend changes that pitch. The company is now moving into heated strength training, betting that customers no longer want one studio identity as much as a wider fitness portfolio.

Solidcore’s official Ascend page describes Strong50 as high-intensity strength training using prescriptive programming, a custom-built weight and resistance station, moderate to heavy weights and deliberate tempos. It says the class is floor-based and heated, with all classes targeting 90°F.

The first studio location is Manhattan West, launching in December 2026, with additional locations to be announced in 2027. Business Insider reported that this is Solidcore’s first expansion beyond its signature workout in nearly 13-year history.

The business logic is clear. Many fitness customers now mix lifting, Pilates-style resistance work, running, recovery and wearable-tracked goals. Karmactive has covered this shift from simple volume targets to more practical fitness signals, including research on walking pace and step counts and health debates around daily habits such as xylitol and heart-risk research.

Ascend also needs careful framing. Heated strength training may feel intense and attractive to experienced clients, but heat changes exertion, sweat loss and comfort. The article should not claim better heart or anti-inflammatory results unless separate medical research is cited. The verified details are the class format, the 90°F target, the Manhattan West launch and the broader boutique-fitness pivot.

For readers choosing a class, the useful difference is not the brand language. Solidcore’s original class centers on slow, controlled resistance on its machines, while Strong50 places heavier strength work on the floor. That means the new product competes more directly with lifting-focused studios, not only Pilates-style classes.

Solidcore’s new class is therefore not just another studio schedule item. It is a sign that single-workout brands are trying to keep customers who already divide their week across several formats. Ascend adds heavier strength work and heat to Solidcore’s model, while the first rollout remains limited to Manhattan West before any wider 2027 expansion.
