The first XPeng production model, the next-generation SEPA 2.0 platform architecture on which the G6 allows a huge range increase, has been built. Beginning with an SUV called the G3 in 2018, the XPeng line-up is followed by the P7 sedan a year later.
With the capability to operate XPeng’s top-tier ADAS, called XNGP, was a refresh of the P7 that followed XPeng’s G9, another SUV model. The newer model of SEPA 2.0 architecture from XPeng powers the G6 and has also made its public debut this week.
Enabling XPeng’s future models with smart driving, an intelligent cabin, super fast charging, and superior performance will be delivered by SEPA 2.0. The latest XNGP, the final stage of ADAS before realizing autonomous driving, is equipped in the G6.
The aim of XPeng was to create a dream car for the younger generation with a new concept of tech-filled aesthetics to satisfy customers’ sense of style. The G6 is expected to set new benchmarks for smart superiority, range reliability, handling excellence, and physical comfort.According to XPeng’s CEO, Mr. He Xiaopeng, the G6 was born intelligent and was conceived through Peng’s technological ingenuity and relentless innovation to continuously set new industry standards in the era of smartification.
The G6 represents several firsts for XPeng, including being China’s only mass-produced, die-cast front and rear integrated aluminum body with cell-integrated body (CIB) technology that optimizes cabin design with added vertical space and increased battery safety. Combining striking exterior design with tech-fluid aesthetics and large amounts of interior space and amenities, a dream car for the younger generation was created by XPeng’s design team.
An 800 V silicon carbide (SiC) platform enables up to 755km (469 miles) of electric range when combined with 3C battery technology, powering the G6. The G6 will be allowed to gather 300km (186 miles) in just 10 minutes on DCfast chargers, particularly XPeng’s S4 chargers in China. The first market where the G6 will be sold will be China, as its model name is only for that market.
The coupe SUV was designed by XPeng to meet the highest standards in two other markets outside of China: Europe and North America.
