October 20 is circulating on social media as the release date for the 24th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. That date has not been confirmed by the central government, and millions of farmers risk missing the payment even after it is released if their portal records are incomplete.

PM-KISAN provides ₹6,000 a year in three equal instalments of ₹2,000, each covering a four-month period. The 23rd installment was disbursed on June 20, 2026, covering 9.44 crore beneficiaries with a total outlay of ₹18,880 crore, according to official Press Information Bureau records. Four months after June 20 lands on October 20 — which is why the date spread online. But a standard payment interval is not an official announcement. The Ministry of Agriculture has made no formal notification of October 20 as the disbursement date.

Farmers expecting the 24th installment on October 20 should note that the central government has issued no official release date. While four months have passed since the June disbursement, payments remain conditional on strict portal compliance. Beneficiaries should log into pmkisan.gov.in to confirm that biometric or facial e-KYC is completed, land-seeding records are verified, and Aadhaar-to-bank account linking via the National Payments Corporation of India gateway is active. Farmers whose accounts have outstanding deficiencies may be excluded or may experience delays until those issues are corrected.

October 20 is an unconfirmed estimate based on pattern-matching against past disbursement timings. The pattern-based date is not a guarantee.

The portal compliance requirements matter practically right now. In Saran district, Bihar, over 4.53 lakh registered PM-Kisan beneficiaries have stalled e-KYC records. E-KYC can be completed at Common Service Centres using biometric verification, or through face authentication on the PM-Kisan app. Land seeding — linking your farmland records to your Aadhaar and PM-Kisan profile — must be completed through your local patwari or revenue department official if the online process shows an error.

The October 20 claim is not confirmed. The official announcement for the 24th installment will appear on pmkisan.gov.in and the PIB portal when the government schedules the Prime Minister’s disbursement event.

Karmactive will publish an update the moment the Ministry of Agriculture or PIB issues a formal announcement on the 24th installment date and event.
