Stark storm warning for big city: Severe thunderstorms forecast for Brisbane; risks across Victoria, NSW and South Australia

Heavy rainfall, large hail (≥5 cm) and damaging wind gusts are in focus for greater Brisbane, with severe storms also possible across parts of Victoria, southern NSW and regional South Australia this weekend.

A severe thunderstorm risk was outlined for southeast Queensland, including Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, with potential for heavy rainfall, large hailstones and damaging winds. An update for Adelaide referenced unsettled conditions, while regional advisories were available for South Australia.
