Meet Vangogh The Chipmunk

Chipmunks are said to be the symbols of play and innocence, and if this video doesn’t prove that, we don’t know what does. Ladies and Gentlemen, put your hands together for none other than Van Gogh the chipmunk, a public figure, an influencer and one of the/”>cutest animals alive.

Being a chipmunk hasn’t stopped him from becoming a famous squirrel on social media, in fact, he has used his irresistible cuteness to his advantaged. Managed by @vangoghthechipmunk, Van Gogh and his other chipmunk friends are spreading smiles every day.

Vangogh the chipmunk is a small rodent with distinctive stripes and a bushy tail. Chipmunks belong to the family Sciuridae and are native to North America. There are 24 species of chipmunks including the Eastern chipmunk and the Least chipmunk. Chipmunks are diurnal and active during the day. Their diet consists of nuts, seeds, fruits and insects which they gather and store in underground burrows. The National Park Service and the US Forest Service monitor chipmunk populations in protected areas. Chipmunks play an important role in seed dispersal and forest ecology.

Chipmunks communicate through chirps and body language to warn other chipmunks of danger. When a hawk flies overhead chipmunks give a soft chirp and freeze in place. When a snake is nearby they emit a sharp whistle-like call and hop in the opposite direction. This complex communication system helps chipmunks survive in the wild by alerting others to predators and coordinating group behavior during foraging. Chipmunks also cache food in the fall for winter consumption by burying seeds and nuts in hidden locations that they remember months later through spatial memory and scent marking.
