ViewSonic Corporation, a leader in visual solutions and Digital Light Processing (DLP) projectors globally, is steering the projector industry towards sustainability with its LS series of lamp-free projectors. These projectors, part of the Luminous Superior series, offer greater energy efficiency, extended lifespans, and eco-friendliness compared to traditional lamp-based projectors. This shift is in line with ViewSonic’s commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, seeking to foster a sustainable future.

Dean Tsai, General Manager of ViewSonic’s Projector & LED Display Business Unit, emphasizes the growing importance of ESG, revealing the company’s five-year goal to pivot towards a carbon-neutral society by increasing the proportion of lamp-free products to 70%, thereby reducing lamp-based production to about 30%. This transition aligns with the United Nations’ SDG12 goal to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

The LS series, leveraging advanced laser and LED technology, offers varying brightness levels from 2,000 to 6,000 ANSI Lumens. These projectors reduce power consumption and carbon footprint, eliminating issues like toxic mercury, frequent bulb replacements, and high maintenance costs associated with lamp-based projectors. Their instant power-on and off capability enhances operational efficiency, and their compact, lightweight design simplifies installation.

ViewSonic illustrates the benefits of this transition through a case study of a client who replaced a 370W lamp projector with a 210W laser-based LS740HD projector. This change led to a 40% reduction in power usage over 20,000 hours, equivalent to the emissions from burning 171 gallons of gasoline, and a saving of $480 in electricity bills.

The company’s commitment extends beyond product design to measuring and reducing the carbon footprint across 179 models. ViewSonic also requires its partners to achieve greenhouse gas verification and reduction certifications, fostering green supply chains and working towards the 2050 net-zero goal.

ViewSonic, with over 35 years of experience in visual displays, offers a diverse range of hardware and software solutions. Operating in over 100 countries, they provide monitors, projectors, pen displays, commercial displays, LED displays, ViewBoard interactive displays, and the myViewBoard software ecosystem, reinforcing their reputation for innovative and reliable solutions in various sectors.
