Tata Motors has introduced a new customer-facing brand identity, “Tata.cars,” for its passenger vehicle business. The change reaches dealerships, showrooms, digital platforms, service centres, and marketing. The registered legal entity, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, does not change, and the separate “Tata.ev” brand continues to cover electric vehicles. The move follows price action such as the Tata Curvv EV discount in August 2026.

Shailesh Chandra, managing director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, said the Tata name carries the heritage, values, and trust built over generations, while Tata.cars gives the passenger vehicle business a modern and forward-looking identity. The new tagline, “Nothing’s Too Far,” replaces “Connecting Aspirations,” which had been in use since 2017.

The visual language follows a design idea called “Parallel Pathways,” built from the T-shape geometry and road lines. The brand colour is Ambition Blue, and a new typeface and a sonic identity have been added. Showrooms will get a new look with stainless-steel front faces and louvred panels. Tata used a similar approach earlier when it created the Tata.ev sub-brand for electric vehicles, and the Nexon.ev redefined electric mobility in India.

Tata Motors has more than 70 lakh cars on Indian roads. Its passenger vehicle range spans 16 models, with a strong focus on SUVs such as the Punch, Nexon, Curvv, Harrier, and Safari. A luxury electric model, Avinya, is also planned. The rebranding is meant to set the passenger vehicle business apart from the company’s commercial vehicle operations and to appeal to younger buyers.

The company noted that customers across India have long referred to its cars simply as “Tata cars” in everyday speech, and the new identity formalises that usage. Government, legal, and regulatory filings will continue to use Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. The familiar Tata ellipse logo on the vehicles stays the same. The first redesigned showrooms are expected to roll out over the coming months as dealerships are updated to the new format. Details are on the official Tata Motors newsroom.
