Fuentes Farms LLC of McAllen, Texas has recalled 71 boxes of fresh cucumbers after testing found potential Salmonella contamination. No illnesses have been reported so far.
The affected cucumbers were sold at flea markets in McAllen and Alamo, Texas between May 31 and June 3, 2025. The recalled products have a Fuentes Farm label with Lot number 357 and come in 40-pound boxes with a black background and red vegetable lettering.
The recall began after the company’s routine sampling program detected Salmonella bacteria in finished products. Fuentes Farms has stopped production and distribution while they work with the FDA to investigate the cause.
This recall is separate from the larger Salmonella outbreak linked to Bedner Growers cucumbers that affected multiple states in May 2025.

Salmonella can cause serious health problems, especially for young children, elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. These typically appear 12 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food and last four to seven days in healthy adults. In rare cases, the infection can spread to the bloodstream and cause more severe illness.
What to do if you purchased these cucumbers:
- Check if your cucumbers have the Fuentes Farm label with Lot number 357
- If affected, either dispose of them immediately or return them to the place of purchase
- Clean and sanitize any surfaces that touched the cucumbers using hot, soapy water
