Fire hazards from overheating lithium-ion batteries have prompted Anker to recall more than 1.1 million of its PowerCore 10000 power banks in the United States. The company has received 19 reports of fires and explosions linked to these devices, resulting in two minor burns and property damage exceeding $60,700.
The recall specifically targets the Anker PowerCore 10000 model A1263 sold between June 2016 and December 2022 for about $27. These portable chargers were available through various online retailers including Anker’s website, Amazon, Newegg, and eBay.
“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled power banks,” states the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in its June 12, 2025 recall notice. The danger stems from the lithium-ion batteries that can overheat, creating serious fire and burn risks.
Identifying affected devices is straightforward. The brand name “Anker” is engraved on the front, while the model number “A1263” and serial number appear on the bottom of the device. Only units with specific serial numbers are included in the recall.
Owners of these power banks should visit Anker’s recall website (anker.com/product-recalls) to verify if their device is affected by entering the model and serial number. To receive a replacement, customers must submit photo evidence showing the recalled device with “recalled” written on it in permanent marker, along with their name and the date.

Customers should never throw these batteries in regular trash or standard recycling bins. Instead, the CPSC recommends contacting local municipal household hazardous waste (HHW) collection centers for proper disposal.
As compensation, Anker is offering affected customers either a $30 gift card for their website or a replacement power bank. While a purchase receipt is helpful, it’s not required for the recall process.

This isn’t Anker’s only recent battery safety issue. The company has issued recalls for several other power bank models, including the 334 MagGo 10K, the 321 Power Bank (5K), and the 535 Power Bank (20K).
