If a young child in your home plays with light-up finger lights, take them away today. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled BAMAMON LED projecting finger light toys because the button cell batteries inside them can be reached by children. Swallowed button batteries can cause internal chemical burns and death.
The CPSC recall, number 27-042 and dated 22 October 2026, covers about 6,533 BAMAMON LED Projecting Finger Light toys. Each toy contains three button cell batteries. The finger lights come 32 pieces to a box, in red, orange, blue, black, purple, clear, green and yellow, and they project eight space themed patterns including astronauts, rockets, a UFO, a galaxy and solar systems, printed on labels on the front of the package. They were sold on Amazon.com from March 2025 through August 2026 for about $13 to $14. The retailer is Shenzhen Maiduoduo Trading Technology Co., Ltd., doing business as Bamamon, of China. The toys were manufactured in China, and no injuries have been reported.
The problem is access. The recall states that the toys violate the mandatory standard for toys because the compartments holding the batteries can be easily reached by children. That makes the batteries a deadly ingestion hazard rather than a hidden one.
Why button batteries are dangerous
When a button cell or coin battery is swallowed, it does not simply pass through. The battery can cause serious injuries and internal chemical burns, and it can be fatal. That is the hazard the recall names, and it is why the agency treats a reachable battery compartment as a defect rather than a warning.
The recall covers about 6,533 units, which is a small population against the size of the Amazon marketplace. The remedy is a refund, and the process asks for proof of disposal rather than a return.
Remove the toy from children immediately and keep it out of reach. Batteries should be disposed of or recycled by following local hazardous waste procedures, not put in household trash where a child or an animal can reach them.
Why were the LED finger lights recalled?
The CPSC recalled BAMAMON LED Projecting Finger Light toys because they violate the mandatory safety standard for toys: the compartments holding the button cell batteries can be easily accessed by children, posing a deadly ingestion hazard.
If you own one, stop using it and contact Bamamon for a refund. You will be asked to email a photograph showing the product being properly disposed of in the trash to bamamonproductrecall@outlook.com. Check the box for 32 pieces and the space themed patterns before you act, and keep the batteries out of reach while you arrange disposal.
