The Royal Australian Mint’s ballot for its new Bluey cricket collector coins opened this morning. If you want one, you have until Monday.
The ballot opened at 8:30am AEST on Friday, September 18, 2026, and closes at 8:30am on Monday, September 21. The coin is a $1 denomination featuring Rusty and Bluey from the Cricket episode — described by the Mint as a series favourite. Two versions are available. The standard coloured uncirculated coin has a mintage of 200,000 and costs $25.00. The silver proof has a mintage of 20,000 and costs $112.50. Purchase limits apply: three per person for the $25 coin, one per person for the silver proof.
If you want the Bluey cricket coin, you need to enter the ballot between 8:30am Friday and 8:30am Monday. The $25 coin has 200,000 mintage. The $112.50 silver proof has only 20,000 and a one-per-person limit.
Both coins carry $1 legal tender face value. That does not mean they cost $1 — the Royal Australian Mint sells collector coins at prices reflecting mintage, design and packaging, not face value. The silver proof comes packaged in a tin shaped like a cricket ball. That packaging detail is unique to this release and adds to the collectible presentation.
The 200,000 standard coins are the accessible entry point for a Bluey fan entering the ballot. The 20,000 silver proofs carry a significantly higher price point and a stricter per-person limit.
How do I get the Bluey cricket coin?
Enter the ballot on the Royal Australian Mint website. The ballot opens Friday, September 18, 2026, at 8:30am AEST and closes Monday, September 21 at 8:30am. The $1 coin costs $25.00 with 200,000 mintage and a limit of three per person. The silver proof costs $112.50 with 20,000 mintage and a limit of one per person.
The ballot results and dispatch information will be communicated to entrants by the Mint after the ballot closes Monday morning. If you miss out in the ballot, monitor the Mint’s website for any remaining stock announcements.
