The first Greek astronaut plan has moved into a signed mission agreement, connecting national space ambitions with an ISS private astronaut flight.

Greece’s first astronaut story moved from political announcement to signed mission framework at the International Space Summit in Paris. ESA, acting on behalf of Greece, signed an agreement with Vast for a private astronaut mission to the International Space Station in partnership with NASA.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and French President Emmanuel Macron announced the plan in Paris. Greek reports identify ESA reserve astronaut and medical doctor Adrianos Golemis as the Greek national expected to take part.

The mission has been described as Vast-PAM-1 in the company announcement, while some Greek coverage referred to PAM-6. The confirmed common point is that the agreement is intended to send the first Greek citizen to orbit.

The mission is tied to a wider Greek space push, including a National Microsatellite Program backed by more than €350 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility. Karmactive’s earlier coverage of ISS missions and space technology gives the article a science-and-capability frame.

The fresh angle is contractual: a national first in orbit is no longer only a diplomatic line from a summit stage. It is now linked to an ESA-Vast agreement, NASA partnership language and Greece’s broader space-industry buildout.
