Stellantis is recalling about 79,000 Jeep Wranglers because their tire pressure warning lights might not work properly. The recall affects 2024 and 2025 model year Wranglers built between April 2023 and December 20, 2024.

The problem involves a remote start antenna cable that can get pinched under the left rear seatbelt retractor bracket. This pinching prevents the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light from illuminating when tire pressure drops too low.

This isn’t just an inconvenience – it’s a safety issue. Federal safety standards require TPMS warning lights to turn on within 20 minutes when tire pressure falls to 25% below the recommended level. Without this warning, drivers might not know they have dangerously low tire pressure.

“A TPMS warning light that fails to notify the driver of a problem increases the risk of a crash,” Stellantis noted in its recall documents. Low tire pressure can lead to blowouts, poor handling, and faster tire wear.

Stellantis began investigating the issue in October 2024. After reviewing warranty data and production records through June 2025, the company identified the root cause as a vehicle assembly problem rather than a defective part. The investigation concluded on August 7, 2025, when Stellantis confirmed the safety standard violation.

Dealers will inspect the remote start antenna cable and replace it if necessary, all at no cost to vehicle owners. Stellantis will mail notification letters to owners beginning September 2, 2025.

The recall carries the identification number 56C. Vehicle owners can check if their Wrangler is affected by entering their 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website (www.nhtsa.gov). This search feature became available on August 21, 2025.

Owners can also contact Stellantis customer service directly at 1-800-853-1403 with questions about the recall.

The affected vehicles were manufactured at the Toledo Assembly Complex. Only vehicles with the remote start feature are included in the recall. Jeep Wranglers without remote start, those built after the suspect period, or those that have been in service for more than 12 months are not affected.

Stellantis estimates that only about 1% of the recalled vehicles – roughly 790 Wranglers – actually have the defect, but all 79,000 vehicles in the suspect range must be inspected to ensure safety compliance.
