The New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) has significantly expanded its recall of cannabis products, adding 28 new items to the 9 previously recalled on June 11. The recall now affects a total of 37 products manufactured by IndoGro LLC.

OCM officials cited two major safety concerns behind the expanded recall, announced on June 27. First, retesting revealed unallowable pesticide levels in the initial nine products. Second, an investigation found that IndoGro used cannabis material from an unlicensed out-of-state source for the additional products.

“Using cannabis from an unlicensed, out-of-state source to produce and sell products in New York is a serious violation of state law,” the OCM stated in its recall notice. All affected products are now considered “adulterated” and potentially hazardous to consumers.

The recalled products include various flower strains and pre-rolls sold under brand names like “Indi,” “Grow by Indi,” “Our Creation,” and “Grow with Us.” Popular varieties such as Sour Runtz, Blue Coffee, Black Cherry Gelato, and Oreoz are among those affected.

Steve Chassman, executive director of the Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, voiced concerns about regulatory oversight, saying, “We need tighter oversight from that Office of Cannabis Management.”

No adverse health effects have been reported so far, according to OCM officials, who describe the recall as “precautionary”. The investigation remains ongoing.

  • Seek medical attention for any cannabis-related symptoms
