Motorists approaching the M25 anticlockwise between Junction 26 (Waltham Abbey) and Junction 25 (Enfield) face severe delays following a multi-vehicle collision involving a lorry in the Holmesdale Tunnel. National Highways has confirmed multiple lanes are closed while emergency services attend the scene and a shed load is cleared from the carriageway.

Delays are currently estimated at 60 minutes above normal journey times, with queuing extending several miles past Epping in the anticlockwise direction. Motorists already on the approach are advised to allow significant additional time or pull over safely if conditions allow.

Diversions

Drivers approaching from the north or east who have not yet committed to the Junction 26 approach should divert via the A10 southbound toward Enfield or use the North Circular (A406) to bypass the congested section entirely.

Google Maps, Waze, and the National Highways app are showing live traffic updates. Avoid the M25 anticlockwise between J26 and J25 until National Highways confirms lanes have reopened.

The Dartford Crossing is operating normally at time of publication.
