Gaiser’s European Style Provisions Inc. has recalled 143,416 pounds of ready-to-eat bologna products due to misbranding. The New Jersey-based company’s products contain meat and poultry ingredients not listed on their labels, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The recalled bologna was produced between March 20 and June 20, 2025, and shipped to stores nationwide. The products bear the establishment number “EST. 5385” inside the USDA inspection mark.
Seven different bologna varieties are affected, including “Family Tree Bologna Veal” containing undeclared pork, “Babushka’s Recipe Chicken Bologna” with undeclared pork, and “Fancy Bologna” containing unlisted beef and chicken. Other affected products include “Gaiser’s Russian Brand Doktorskaya Bologna,” “Gaiser’s Bologna Veal,” “Gaiser’s Turkey Bologna,” and “Chicken Bologna Kypoyka Paba.”

The problem came to light when the FSIS was notified through the Office of Inspector General’s hotline. After investigating the complaint, officials confirmed the products contained meat ingredients not declared on the labels.
This is classified as a Class III recall, which means the FSIS does not expect adverse health effects from consuming these products. However, the undeclared ingredients pose concerns for people with specific meat allergies or religious dietary restrictions.
If you’ve purchased these products, do not eat them. Either throw them away or return them to the store where you bought them. Some products may have been repackaged and relabeled in retail stores, so check for the establishment number if you’re unsure.
