The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued an urgent stop-use warning for the Tristar Products 6-Quart Power Quick Pot pressure cooker, citing a burn hazard described in the agency’s 15 October 2026 release.

According to the CPSC warning described in the agency’s 15 October 2026 release, approximately 393,000 units are covered by the warning. The affected model is Y6D-36, and the agency had received 24 reports at the time of the release.

The CPSC has issued a stop-use warning — an urgent advisory directing consumers to discontinue use of the product immediately. Tristar Products has not announced a voluntary recall.

To check whether your appliance is the affected model, look for the model number Y6D-36. This is a 6-quart pressure cooker marketed under the Power Quick Pot name. If your unit carries this model number, stop using it immediately and place it where it cannot be accidentally operated by anyone else in the household.

What should Power Quick Pot owners do?

Stop using the appliance immediately. Check for model number Y6D-36 to confirm whether your 6-quart Power Quick Pot is covered by the CPSC warning. If it matches, do not operate the cooker again. Place it somewhere it cannot be used accidentally by others in the household. Monitor the CPSC website for updated guidance.
