All Size Swimwear Made From Recycled Plastic -Deakin And Blue

Rosie Cook is the Founder and CEO of Deakin and Blue (D&B) . It started when she couldn’t find a swimsuit for her weekly swim and so decided to make her own. She created her first collection in 2017. Later she did her survey in the market and realized that females are not confident in their swimwear, hence she began her quest to change the swimwear industry with her swimsuits which are suitable for all size women. Deakin and Blue develop the unique 3 curve sizing system to offer a comfortable, sleek and sculpting fit, whatever the shape or size.

Their sizing is tailored to three different body shapes, the Hepburn is for AA-B cup busts, the Monroe is for C-E cup busts & the Hendricks is for F-HH cup busts. D&B design every piece with movement in mind. Whether you’re surfing, swimming, suping or simply lounging on the beach their swimwear got you covered. All their swimwear is made from ECONYL, a 100% regenerated nylon fiber made from post-consumer waste such as old fishing nets. consumer & industrial plastic. Each of their pieces is designed and made from recycled waste from their London studio.

They work with Oeko-Textile certified suppliers, environmentally and socially responsible manufacturers and partners who pay fairly and use chemicals safely and minimize waste where possible. D&B uses fabrics which are twice as resistant to chlorine, sun cream and oil as standard Lycra in order to ensure their swimsuits are high quality pieces made to last.

In packaging they have sourced 100% reusable and recyclable packaging materials to avoid harming the environment. Their tissue paper uses soy- based ink and is printed on acid free FSC certified paper. They collaborate with organizations like “Love the Oceans and have worked together for the last two years. D&B is recognized by Vanity Fair as one of the “most sustainable fashion brands” and winner of the Independent’s Best Buy Sports Swimwear 2018 and 2019.]

Deakin & Blue is a body positive brand which is passionate about celebrating brilliant healthy bodies at every shape and size and debunking the myth that bodies have to look a certain shape, size or color to be beach ready or appropriate as per the body type image set by media and industry. They never retouch their images (no teeth whitening, no cellulite removal, no reshaping entire body parts or adding in abs or muscle tone) and they photograph every product on a range of models with different shapes and sizes to help you see what a product might look like on a body similar to yours.

All D&B swim pieces come with Copp Feel #BraHijack labels reminding you to check for signs of breast cancer, and they can customize any of your pieces for free to fit a post-mastectomy prosthetic. D&B believe in ethics, quality and being transparent about the manufacturing of their clothes. They produce swimwear in a small London production studio which prides on premium craftsmanship in a safe working environment. They regularly partner with marine conservation organizations for donating their profits for beach and ocean cleanup activities & conservation.
