Meet Aditya Dubey is Environmental Activist, based in Delhi, India. He was the one advocating #Satyagraha outside Rahul Gandhi’s residence to seek his attention for his intervention to stop stubble burning immediately. In October, Stubble fires around Punjab & Haryana hit 4,000. Delhi was ranked as the top worst air polluted city in the world. With ever increasing pollution, environment & climate activists are trying their best to spread awareness through protests & more regarding climate change.

In August 2020, Dubey had filed a petition to the Supreme Court of India, requesting the apex court to help farmers with free stubble-removing machines that could result in reduction of crop burning, a major cause of air pollution in & around Delhi. At the same time, he reached out to Chief Ministers of Delhi, Punjab & Haryana advocating against the fine or police actions for stubble burning.

Dubey’s plea was addressed by the Supreme Court & a one-member committee was formed by appointing Justice Madan B Lokur to monitor the situation. An authoritative ‘Commission For Management Of Air Quality in Delhi & Adjourning Areas, 2020’ was eventually announced to handle the air pollution problem in Delhi and nearby areas.
