It’s been announced by Fisher that its upcoming crossover has met all applicable US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards & New  Car Assessment Program (NCAP) standards.  All safety standards imposed by US legislation for any new mass-produced vehicle are met by the Fisker Ocean eSUV. A government-run safety rating program, the NCAP assigns safety ratings to new cars based on their performance in crash tests & other safety evaluations.

There is an acceleration in Fisker’s progress to begin deliveries of the Fisker Ocean eSUV for the US & European markets. The new car Ocean SUV has now completed & met all applicable FMVSS testing required for US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) self-certification. An internationally recognised agency was utilized by the company to carry out the testing. The structure of the Fisker Ocean eSUV was engineered by Fisker to achieve a 5-star crash rating according to the NCAP.

WLTP certification in Europe has been received by the Fisker Ocean eSUV for its Extreme trim level with 20-inch wheels.  The new Fisker Ocean eSUV has a range of 440 miles (707 km), the most extended range of any battery-electric SUV currently on sale in Europe. An official Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is being pursued by Fisker with the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) to validate the Fisker Ocean Extreme range. The Fisker is also pursuing California Air Resource Board (CARB) certification in California & 17 other jurisdictions in the US. The anticipation for Fisker is that the EPA will confirm the 350-mile range for the Fisker Ocean Extreme.

It’s the intention of the company to ramp up production on April 20, 2023, for vehicles planned for European delivery. The US-destined units will have a separate ramp-up, estimated to start the first week of May. The strategy of building 300 vehicles was changed by Fisker to avoid holding inventory that the company could not deliver in Europe  or the US. Some units were built by the company for internal use to maintain production readiness. The new car Fisker Ocean eSUV is a mid-size electric SUV with high performance, a long range, & low cost.

The features of the Fisker Ocean eSUV: a 250 kw electric motor, an 80 kWh battery pack, & a range of up to 350 miles on a single charge. The Fisker Ocean has a top speed of 112 mph & can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. The FO will be delivered to customers in Europe before North America.   The patience of reservation holders is appreciated by Henry Fisker, who is excited to get vehicles into the hands of customers.
