The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission has issued a brief notification for APPSC Group-I Services 2026, announcing 163 provisional vacancies across several senior government positions. Applications open on October 6, 2026 and close on October 27, 2026.

The brief notification is numbered 07/2026 and is dated September 15, 2026. The detailed notification — including full eligibility criteria, syllabus, and examination schedule — is expected to be published by October 6, coinciding with the opening of the application window.

Key dates

  • Brief notification issued: September 15, 2026
  • Detailed notification expected: October 6, 2026
  • Application window opens: October 6, 2026
  • Application window closes: October 27, 2026

Vacancy breakdown

The 163 provisional posts span several Group-I category positions. The major allocations reported are:

  • DSP Civil: 36 posts
  • Divisional Development Officer: 35 posts
  • Deputy Registrar: 15 posts
  • Assistant Commissioner of State Tax: 14 posts
  • District Educational Officer: 14 posts
  • Deputy Collectors: 11 posts

Additional posts in other Group-I categories make up the balance of the 163-vacancy total. Final vacancy numbers may be revised in the detailed notification.

The age limit change candidates must know about

The Andhra Pradesh government has separately raised the upper age limit for non-uniform government recruitment from 42 to 44 years. This relaxation has been extended through September 30, 2027.

For Group-I candidates who previously fell outside the age threshold, this two-year extension may change their eligibility. If you were aged 43 or 44 and had written off APPSC Group-I as a possibility, you should check your eligibility again under the revised limit before the October 6 application opens.

The change was notified through government orders GO 187 and GO 188. Uniform services posts — police, prisons, and similar — are not covered by this relaxation.

How to apply

Applications will be accepted online through the APPSC official portal. The detailed notification on October 6 will confirm the exact application link, fee structure, and document requirements. Candidates are advised to check the APPSC official website directly rather than relying on third-party sites for the application link, as unofficial portals sometimes circulate outdated or incorrect links.

The detailed notification will also carry the final eligibility criteria, including educational qualifications required for each post and any reservation category allocations.

The official APPSC examination schedule for the Group-I written examination has not yet been announced. Check back once the detailed notification is released on October 6.
