Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo has publicly addressed her departure from the network for the first time, nearly a week after the company announced the split. In a statement shared on social media platforms on September 10, Bartiromo thanked supporters and signaled that she intends to return to the public eye soon, though she did not specify what form her next move would take.

The 58-year-old broadcast journalist, who spent more than 12 years at Fox News, posted messages on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) that emphasized gratitude to her followers and supporters. She accompanied the posts with peaceful imagery including flowers, a beach sunset, and a photograph of her dog. In the Instagram message, she promised to be “back soon with my next moves,” while the X post simply stated “More to come.”

Fox News Media announced on September 3 that it had ended its professional relationship with Bartiromo, effective immediately. The network provided no explanation for the decision, characterizing it as a business matter in its public statement. Following the announcement, Fox removed her name from the programming lineup and assigned replacement hosts to the shows she had anchored: “Mornings with Maria,” “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street,” and “Sunday Morning Futures.”

The departure generated significant attention across media and political circles. President Donald Trump posted publicly to praise Bartiromo’s work as a journalist, describing her as a “true warrior” and highlighting her professionalism.

An important factual dispute surrounds the circumstances of her exit. Bartiromo’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, issued a statement challenging media reports that characterized her departure as a firing. Freedman stated that such reports were “absolutely and unequivocally false” and claimed to possess documentation and witnesses to support an alternative account. The attorney’s statement suggested that legal action might follow if the characterization persisted, though Bartiromo herself has not publicly confirmed details of the disagreement.

Bartiromo had joined Fox News in 2014, transitioning from a 20-year career at CNBC. Her programming on Fox News focused on financial markets and business news, positioning her as a prominent voice on the network’s business-focused platforms.

The anchor’s statements offer minimal detail about her professional plans, leaving open questions about whether she might move to another news outlet, launch an independent venture, or pursue alternative media platforms. Her emphasis on returning “soon” suggests she does not intend to step away from public work entirely.
