Wilde Protection Society Of India (WPSI) were conducting research in Thanamir village, Nagaland. They had setup camera traps which captured the clouded leopard at a height of 3700 metres.

Clouded Leopard Spotted In Nagaland At 3700 Metres Listed as Threatened by IUCN, the clouded leopard is known to dwell on lower heights. The Clouded leopard is usually found in rainforest areas. Very few lucky ones have sighted these elusive cats.

Wildlife Protection Society Of India (WPSI) were conducting research in Thanamir village, Nagaland. They had setup camera traps which captured the Clouded Leopard Spotted In Nagaland At 3700 Metres.

All the previous sightings at higher altitudes occurred in summer time. It is believed , that the clouded leopard might be moving higher as the snow begins to recede.

The research was published in the Winter edition of Cat News by IUCN/Species Survival Commission (SSC) Cat Specialist Group.
