Cadillac unveiled its newest electric concept car at The Quail during Monterey Car Week, showing what future luxury vehicles might look like. The Elevated Velocity is a 2+2 crossover that combines high-end comfort with serious off-road abilities.
The car sits on massive 24-inch wheels and features doors that open upward like wings. But the real standout feature is its three different user modes that completely change how the car behaves and looks inside.
Three Modes That Transform the Car
The concept offers three distinct experiences. Welcome Mode greets drivers with soft white lighting throughout the cabin when they approach. The gull-wing doors automatically lift open while animations play on the steering wheel and Cadillac logos light up on the dashboard.
Elevate Mode turns the car into something like a moving wellness center. The steering wheel and pedals completely disappear into the dashboard. The lighting shifts to red tones while the seats begin glowing with infrared light designed to help passengers recover from physical activity. The doors pulse with light to guide breathing exercises, and the cabin filters and purifies the air while adding fragrance.
Velocity Mode focuses entirely on performance driving. The interior switches to bright white lighting while the steering wheel displays key information like speed, navigation, and battery status. The floor lighting dims to help drivers concentrate on the road ahead.

Built for Desert Adventures
The Elevated Velocity was designed to handle both smooth highways and rough desert terrain. The car can instantly switch between e-Velocity mode for regular road driving and Terra mode for off-road adventures that activates air suspension.
Two unique features help with extreme desert conditions. Sand Vision improves visibility during sandstorms, working similarly to night vision technology. Elements Defy uses vibrations to keep dust, sand, and dirt from sticking to the car’s exterior, ensuring it stays clean even in harsh conditions.
Design That Stands Out
The concept sports a Vapor Blue paint color inspired by glacial ice, contrasting with a bright red interior. The wheels combine flax fiber with crystal-tinted acrylic materials, representing Cadillac’s push toward more sustainable components.
Inside, the cabin features three different red materials. Deep Morello red leather covers the seats and headliner. Cerise fabric wraps around the interior from doors to dashboard. Garnet boucle fabric appears on seat tops and armrests. The door panels feature 3D-printed patterns inspired by desert polo, complete with designs mimicking horse hooves moving across sand.
Current Electric Vehicle Success
This concept debut comes as Cadillac experiences strong electric vehicle sales. The luxury brand recorded its best first half of the year in nearly two decades. In the second quarter of 2025, Cadillac claimed the position as the top luxury electric vehicle brand in the United States and holds the number two position for the year-to-date period, ranking fifth in overall electric vehicle sales.
The company recently launched the LYRIQ-V and OPTIQ-V to meet growing demand in the electric performance crossover segment. Both General Motors and Cadillac have adjusted their previous all-electric goals. Cadillac had originally targeted going all-electric by 2030 while GM aimed for 2035, but both companies now say the transition will be paced by market demand.
What This Means for Future Cars
Bryan Nesbitt from GM Global Design explains that concept work studies lifestyle and technology trends that could influence future vehicles. The Elevated Velocity builds on design ideas from last year’s Opulent Velocity concept, adapting them for a crossover format.
The concept includes practical luxury touches like a locked vault compartment for valuables and storage space for adventure gear. A custom polo set crafted in the car’s signature colors sits in the rear compartment, complete with helmet, gloves, and mallet. While Cadillac hasn’t announced production plans or technical specifications like battery range or charging speed, the concept showcases potential direction for luxury electric vehicles that can handle both city commuting and outdoor adventures.
