Health Concerns
These bacteria can make both pets and people sick.
Pets might show diarrhea, vomiting, fever, tiredness, or loss of appetite. Some pets carry the bacteria without showing symptoms.
People can get infected by handling the food without proper handwashing. Symptoms include nausea, diarrhea, cramps, and fever. The risk is higher for children, adults aged 65 or older, pregnant women, and those with weak immune systems.
No illnesses have been reported to date as of August 25, 2025.
