US President Donald Trump on Thursday (Jun 12) accused his predecessor Joe Biden’s administration and California Governor Gavin Newsom of “flooding America with 21 million illegal aliens”. This comes amid the administration’s rising tension with California authorities over Trump’s order to deploy thousands of military personnel amid anti-immigration protests in Los Angeles. In a separate post, the US president said, “Incompetent Gavin Newscum should have been THANKING me for the job we did in Los Angeles, rather than making sad excuses for the poor job he has done. If it weren’t for me getting the National Guard into Los Angeles, it would be burning to the ground right now!”

The southern California native singer Olivia Rodrigo is one of the various music artists speaking out against the immigration raids. The pop star and actress is adding her voice to the growing outcry over federal immigration raids in Southern California. She took to social media on Saturday (June 14) amid widespread protests against the new immigration laws. “I’ve lived in LA my whole life and I’m deeply upset about these violent deportations of my neighbors under the current administration,” Rodrigo wrote on her Instagram Story. “LA simply wouldn’t exist without immigrants. Treating hardworking community members with such little respect, empathy, and due process is awful. I stand with the beautiful, diverse community of Los Angeles and with immigrants all across America. I stand for our right to freedom of speech and freedom to protest.”
