Sunbeam Products Inc. has recalled approximately 1.29 million Oster French Door Countertop Ovens in the United States and about 104,195 in Canada due to a serious safety concern. The recall, announced on September 25, 2025, was triggered by a problem with the spring-loaded bilateral doors that can unexpectedly close, causing burns to users.
The company has received 95 reports of injuries from the doors closing unexpectedly, including two cases of second-degree burns requiring medical attention. Most reported burns were minor first-degree burns similar to sunburns.

The recall affects four main U.S. models: TSSTTVFDXL, TSSTTVFDDG, TSSTTVFDMAF, and TSSTTVFDDAF. Additional Canadian variants include TSSTTVFDDGDS, TSSTTVFDXLPP-033, and TSSTTVFDDAF-033. All affected ovens have distinctive glass doors with metal handles that open from the center, with “Oster” engraved on the front bottom right.

These countertop ovens were sold nationwide at major retailers including Bed Bath & Beyond, Costco, Walmart, Amazon.com, and Overstock.com between August 2015 and July 2025, priced between $140 and $250.

Sunbeam is not offering refunds or replacements. Instead, consumers should immediately stop using the ovens and request a free repair kit. The kit includes a clip-on device called a “Door Assist Magnet” that provides additional holding force to keep the doors in the open position when reaching into the oven. The repair requires no tools to install and comes with instructions and a QR code link to an installation video.
The U.S. Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC) has assigned this recall number 25-475. The CPSC reminds consumers that federal law prohibits selling or distributing recalled products.
To request a free repair kit, consumers can contact Sunbeam at 800-334-0759 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit recall.oster.com.

Consumers can identify if they have a recalled model by checking the label on the backside of the oven or the original packaging for the model number. The four recalled models have different cooking features and control types, but all pose the same hazard.
