Ferrari will deliver its first all-electric vehicle to customers in October 2026, CEO Benedetto Vigna announced during the company’s Q1 2025 earnings call. The roll-out follows a specific schedule: technical details will appear at Ferrari’s Capital Markets Day on October 9, 2025, with the full world premiere coming in spring 2026.”Deliveries will commence just months after that, in October 2026,” Vigna told analysts, providing the first concrete timeline for this product.

The Italian automaker is building this electric model at its new “e-building” in Maranello. This facility handles in-house production of electric motors, inverters, and battery modules – keeping core technology development under Ferrari’s direct control.

Money Matters: Strong Q1 Performance

Ferrari reported €693 million in first-quarter core earnings, up 15% from last year. This growth came from sales of premium models including the SF90XX family, 12Cilindri, and 499P Modificata, plus increased customer personalization requests and growth in profitable markets, especially the Americas.

While noting that U.S. tariffs could cut 2025 profit margins by 50 basis points, Ferrari held firm on its full-year earnings forecast of at least €2.68 billion and a minimum 38.3% EBITDA margin.

“Ferrari stands out,” Bernstein analysts wrote, noting the company maintained guidance while Mercedes, Ford, and Stellantis recently withdrew theirs.

Multi-Engine Strategy Continues

Ferrari isn’t abandoning traditional engines. The company will keep producing gasoline engines and hybrids alongside new electric vehicles.

“We continue to enrich our product offering,” Vigna stated.

Hybrid models, introduced in 2019, now make up 51% of Ferrari sales. The company plans for electrified vehicles (both hybrids and full EVs) to reach 60% of sales by 2026 and 80% by 2030, with pure electric vehicles making up 40% of total sales by decade’s end.

The electric expansion runs parallel to Ferrari’s recent 296 Speciale plug-in hybrid launch. Ferrari has promised a total of six new models this year, including its first EV.

Technical Details and Market Position

Full specifications remain private until October 2025, but industry analysts expect the electric Ferrari to cost around $500,000.

Spy photos suggest a body style between a sports car and a crossover, possibly smaller than the Purosangue but with similar proportions.

Ferrari faces the challenge of creating electric components that deliver both performance and a sensory experience that matches its combustion engines.

“The focus remains on the fun of driving a Ferrari, irrespective of the power source,” Vigna has stated previously.

An anonymous analyst told Reuters that the phased unveiling suggests “some delay to Ferrari’s launch plan, as one could have expected to see the car itself at the meeting this October.” However, this timing matches Ferrari’s typical practice of starting deliveries about nine months after a model’s full reveal.

This electric Ferrari will compete in the growing ultra-luxury electric performance segment against the Porsche Taycan and Rimac Nevera, with Lamborghini and Aston Martin also preparing electric models.

Ferrari’s measured approach balances regulatory requirements with maintaining the driving experience customers expect from the brand.
