A New Jersey company is pulling thousands of pounds of meat products from store shelves and restaurants across the country after federal inspectors discovered they carried fake inspection marks.

Sabrositos Hondureños, LLC of Edison, New Jersey has recalled approximately 32,000 pounds of meat products that bore a false USDA inspection label “EST. 1785,” according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The FSIS alert indicates this establishment number doesn’t exist, which means the products never underwent proper inspection before being sold.

The recall includes six different meat products, all in 14-ounce vacuum-sealed packages:

  • Homestyle chorizo (“OLANCHO Chorizo Suelto Olanchano”)
  • Smoked pork chops (“OLANCHO Chuleta Ahumada Olanchana”)
  • Smoked chorizo (“OLANCHO Chorizo Ahumado Olanchano”)
  • Cased homestyle chorizo (“OLANCHO Chorizo Olanchano Criollo”)
  • Smoked BBQ spicy chorizo (“OLANCHO Chorizo Parrillero”)
  • Smoked ribs (“OLANCHO Costilla Ahumada Olanchana”)

All products were made before August 20, 2025, and have been shipped to stores and restaurants nationwide.

FSIS discovered the problem during routine market surveillance when inspectors observed these products with the fake inspection marks being sold. Federal officials have declared these items “misbranded and unsafe” to eat.

The agency advises consumers who have purchased these products not to eat them. Instead, they should either throw them away or return them to where they were purchased. Restaurant owners are also instructed not to serve any of the recalled items.
