WestJet will launch weekly non-stop flights between Calgary and Puerto Escondido, Mexico starting December 12, 2025. With this addition, WestJet will operate 15 non-stop routes between Calgary and Mexico this winter.
The flight will depart Calgary at 8:55 a.m., arriving at 3:44 p.m., with returns leaving Puerto Escondido at 4:45 p.m. and landing in Calgary at 9:46 p.m. Following the start of Daylight Savings time, Calgary departure and arrival times will be one hour earlier.
“Delivering this hidden gem to WestJet’s network is another way we’re fulfilling our promise to give Canadians more unforgettable and affordable getaways,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer.
The Canadian carrier is adding this route to its winter schedule. The timing aligns with Puerto Escondido’s dry season (December-April), optimal for surfing at the famous Playa Zicatela.
“Over the past three years, we have worked tirelessly with WestJet through numerous meetings and presentations to showcase Puerto Escondido as the extraordinary destination it is. We are confident that this new route from Calgary will be a great success, thanks to the strong demand this airport already has from the Canadian market,” said Javier Garcia Bejos, CEO of Aeropuertos Mexicanos (AME).
Puerto Escondido International Airport (PXM) has limited international service, making this Calgary connection valuable for Canadians seeking fewer connections.
WestJet recently expanded its Mexican network with routes to Guadalajara, Tepic (Riviera Nayarit), Cozumel, and year-round Mexico City service. Their winter 2025/26 schedule shows an 8% increase in sun destination capacity versus last winter.Travelers can book via WestJet directly or choose vacation packages offered by WestJet Vacations or Sunwing Vacations.
