Maharashtra government has made e-KYC mandatory for all Ladki Bahin Yojana beneficiaries within two months, according to a recent Government Resolution. Women must verify their Aadhaar details to continue receiving the ₹1,500 monthly financial support.
Act Now or Face Payment Delays
The Women and Child Development Department’s circular establishes this verification requirement with immediate effect. Officials say the GR makes e-KYC compulsory every year; the GR does not specify particular months for the annual verification.
Minister Aditi Tatkare stated: “An e-KYC facility has been made available on the web portal, ‘ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in’, for all beneficiaries of the scheme. They are requested to complete the e-KYC process in the next two months.”
The verification aims to confirm continued eligibility and remove recipients who no longer qualify under scheme parameters.
Verification Process
The e-KYC requires:
- Visit ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in
- Enter Aadhaar number
- Verify via OTP on Aadhaar-linked mobile
- Confirm eligibility details
- Complete required declarations
- Submit and save confirmation
Women whose mobile numbers aren’t linked to Aadhaar must update this information through UIDAI first. Those needing assistance can visit local Anganwadi centers, ASHA workers, or Setu/Aaple Sarkar centers.
Eligibility Requirements
The Ladki Bahin Yojana covers women aged 21-65 with family income up to ₹2.5 lakh annually. The scheme allows a maximum of two women per household to receive benefits.
Department data shows about 26.34 lakh (2.634 million) potentially ineligible cases were identified during audits, including 14,000 men who wrongly received benefits, prompting this e-KYC exercise.
For e-KYC assistance, beneficiaries can contact the scheme’s helpdesk through the official portal or toll-free helpline numbers 181 and 1800-120-8040. The verification deadline applies to all current recipients regardless of enrollment date.
