Kim Kardashian Reveals Brain Aneurysm Diagnosis Amid Ongoing Stress
Kim Kardashian has revealed that doctors found a small brain aneurysm during an MRI scan. The 45-year-old reality star and entrepreneur shared this health news in the Season 7 premiere of The Kardashians on Hulu, where footage appears to show her undergoing a brain scan.
“There’s like a little aneurysm,” Kardashian says in the season teaser, with her sister Kourtney Kardashian Barker responding with surprise. In the same episode, Kardashian connects her health issues to stress from her complicated relationship with ex-husband Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. She mentions feeling tested by having to protect their four children — North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6 — during public moments.
“I felt more stressed, probably just because I had to super, super protect what I had to protect,” she explains in the episode.
What is a Brain Aneurysm? A brain aneurysm is a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain. About 1 in 50 people in the U.S. have an unruptured brain aneurysm. Most small aneurysms don’t rupture. If an aneurysm leaks or ruptures, it causes bleeding in the brain (a hemorrhagic stroke).

“They’re going to know things. They’re going to grow up, they’re going to see,” she said. “My job as a mom is just to make sure that at a time when that behavior is happening, is just to make sure that they are protected.”
She also noted a shift in her view of responsibility toward West: “I always felt like I had a little bit of Stockholm Syndrome … and this was the first time I didn’t feel that responsibility personally.”
