Honda and Acura EV owners will soon plug into Tesla‘s vast charging network. Starting June 2025, Prologue and ZDX drivers can access over 20,000 Tesla Superchargers across the United States using a new Honda-approved adapter.

The move puts Honda’s electric vehicles in step with other automakers who’ve switched to Tesla’s charging system. Ford, GM, Rivian, Volvo, Polestar, Nissan, Lucid, and Mercedes-Benz already let their customers use Superchargers.

“Adding Tesla Supercharger network access to the charging networks already available to our EV customers means industry-leading fast-charging access for Honda and Acura EV drivers,” says Ryan Harty, assistant vice president of Sustainability & Business Development at American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

What EV Owners Need to Know

  • Timing: Access starts June 2025
  • Models: Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX
  • Required Equipment: Honda-approved NACS-CCS DC fast-charging adapter
  • Where to Buy: Authorized Honda and Acura dealerships
  • Pricing: To be announced closer to June
  • Warranty Note: Using unapproved adapters may void vehicle warranty coverage

Honda will notify Prologue and ZDX owners through their HondaLink and Acura EV apps when adapters become available. These apps will also show compatible Supercharger locations.

Honda’s Broader Charging Plans

Honda aims to give EV drivers access to about 100,000 DC fast-charge points across North America by 2030. This includes:

  • Tesla Supercharger network
  • New IONNA DC fast-charging network
  • EVgo charging network
  • Electrify America charging network

The company plans to bring its first built-in NACS-compatible model, the Acura RSX, to market in 2026. Honda’s 0 series models will follow.

Technical Requirements

The adapter bridges the gap between:

  • Vehicle’s CCS (Combined Charging System) port
  • Tesla’s NACS (North American Charging Standard) connector

Honda tested the adapter for safety and compatibility with both the Prologue and ZDX. It works at any NACS DC fast-charging point and remains the only DC fast charging adapter with Honda’s approval.
