Tesla has raised the price of its most powerful Cybertruck model by $15,000, making an already expensive vehicle even pricier. The Cyberbeast, the top-tier version of Tesla’s futuristic pickup truck, now starts at $114,990, up from its previous price of $99,990.

The price increase comes with what Tesla calls a “Luxe Package,” which buyers cannot opt out of. This means anyone wanting the fastest Cybertruck must pay for these extra features whether they want them or not.

The Luxe Package includes Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) driver assistance system, lifetime access to Tesla’s Supercharger network, a four-year premium service plan, and Premium Connectivity. The service plan covers wheel alignments, tire rotations, front camera cleaning, and replacement of filters and wiper blades.

The price hike affects only the tri-motor Cyberbeast model. Prices for other Cybertruck versions remain unchanged, with the rear-wheel drive Long Range starting at $69,990 and the all-wheel drive version at $82,235.

This pricing move comes at a challenging time for the Cybertruck. Sales figures suggest the vehicle isn’t selling as well as expected. While Tesla doesn’t report individual model sales, industry data indicates the company sold just 4,306 Cybertrucks in the second quarter of 2025, marking its worst sales performance in a year.

The electric pickup’s current price is far above CEO Elon Musk’s original promise. When first announced in 2019, Musk pitched the Cybertruck with a starting price of around $40,000. But when it finally launched in late 2023, the base model was priced at $60,990 – more than 50% higher than initially promised.

For buyers interested in the Cyberbeast, the price increase has another important consequence: it pushes the truck’s price well above the $80,000 cap for the $7,500 federal electric vehicle tax credit. This means Cyberbeast buyers who pay cash will not qualify for this incentive, further increasing the total cost of ownership.

The Cyberbeast is Tesla’s most powerful truck variant, generating 845 horsepower from its three electric motors. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds, making it the quickest truck Car and Driver has ever tested. It has a top speed of 128 mph, can tow up to 11,000 pounds, and offers up to 320 miles of range between charges.

The timing of this price increase is puzzling considering Tesla’s production capacity for the Cybertruck. The company has previously stated it can produce more than 125,000 Cybertrucks annually, with potential to reach about 250,000 in 2025. However, if current sales trends continue, actual production will fall far short of these figures.

Tesla has also been offering substantial discounts of around $10,000 on some Cybertruck inventory models, suggesting the company is struggling to move existing stock.

The Cyberbeast now faces even tougher competition from rivals like the quad-motor Rivian R1T, which offers more power at a similar price point. The R1T boasts 1,205 horsepower compared to the Cyberbeast’s 845, accelerates slightly faster (0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds versus 2.6), and provides a longer estimated range (338 miles versus 320).

This price hike follows a similar strategy Tesla recently applied to its Model S sedan and Model X SUV, which also received mandatory Luxe Packages adding $10,000 to their prices. The move suggests Tesla may be shifting its premium models to an even higher price bracket rather than focusing on increasing sales volume.
