Scout Motors is investing an additional $300 million to build a Supplier Park in Blythewood, South Carolina. The investment comes without new government incentives and is expected to support approximately 1,000 supplier jobs. Initial production is targeted for 2027.
The nearly 200-acre Supplier Park will house three critical facilities spanning over 2.3 million square feet. The complex will include a Just-in-Time (JIT) facility for sequencing parts for final vehicle assembly, a Battery Assembly Building designed for high-volume battery assembly, and an Accessories Building to support upfitting and installation of vehicle accessories – all strategically positioned adjacent to Scout’s main production center.
“This expansion reinforces our long-term commitment to American manufacturing and reflects our continued belief in South Carolina as a hub for automotive innovation and economic growth,” said Scout Motors President and CEO Scott Keogh. “Our on-site Supplier Park will strengthen our production capabilities and help establish a vibrant, resilient supply chain ecosystem that will benefit the region for decades to come.”
Evans General Contractors has been awarded the construction contract for the project, with work aimed at supporting Scout’s target of beginning production of the Traveler SUV and Terra truck models in 2027.
The supplier investment amplifies Scout’s economic footprint in South Carolina beyond its original commitment. Company records show early supplier agreements already awarded represent approximately $368 million in investments and are expected to support over 1,000 new jobs in South Carolina.
“When Scout Motors announced they were coming to South Carolina, we knew it would set off a chain reaction of investment and job creation across our state,” said Governor Henry McMaster. “This announcement further highlights Scout Motors’ commitment to our continued prosperity and the seemingly limitless economic opportunities they’re creating for our people.”
