Gooder Foods pulled eight lots of boxed mac and cheese from U.S. stores and online retailers after undeclared milk and cashew triggered allergic reactions in consumers who bought products between April and August this year.

The September 10 recall notice, published by FDA on September 11, covers specific batches of “Vegan Is Believin'” and “Here Comes Truffle” varieties produced between April 7 and April 15, 2025. The company pinpointed the exact production dates to April 7-15, 2025.

Consumer feedback alerted Gooder Foods to the allergen contamination after eight people reported reactions. Six cases were linked to “Here Comes Truffle” boxes containing undisclosed cashew, while two consumers reacted to “Vegan Is Believin'” products that may contain undeclared milk.

The affected “Vegan Is Believin'” packages (5.25 oz, UPC 850031990074) carry lot codes 09725N, 09825N, 09925N, 10025N, and 10125N with Best Buy dates spanning July 7-11, 2026. The “Here Comes Truffle” variety (6 oz, UPC 850031990159) shows lot codes 10125N, 10425N, and 10525N, with corresponding Best Buy dates of July 11, 14, and 15, 2026.

Shoppers can locate these identifying codes on the outside of their packages near or under the Best Buy date. The company distributed these products nationwide to wholesale distributors, operators, and online channels between April 29 and August 5, 2025.

For affected consumers, the FDA advises not to consume the recalled product. Consumers can return it to the place of purchase for a refund and should contact a healthcare provider if concerned about an allergic reaction. The agency notes that undeclared allergens pose potentially serious health risks, particularly for those with severe milk or tree nut allergies.
Gooder Foods has started notifying its distribution chain and direct customers while simultaneously pulling all affected product from circulation.
