The long-awaited factory tow package costs $1,300 in the US and $1,765 in Canada - but what exactly do you get for that price?

Only compatible with the 2024 "Highland" Model 3 in RWD and AWD versions - leaving thousands of pre-2024 owners still relying on aftermarket solutions.

Performance Model 3 owners are completely left out - Tesla confirms the package won't work with the sportier version due to its larger rear motor.

The 2,200-pound towing capacity falls short of Model Y's 3,500 pounds - but it's enough for bikes, kayaks, and small trailers.

What makes this better than aftermarket options? The integrated "Tow Mode" software that optimizes vehicle systems specifically for towing.

Installation at Tesla Service Centers takes 2-4 hours and is included in the price - no more worrying about voiding your warranty with third-party hitches.

Not everyone is impressed - one Reddit user called it "flat out the worst part of the car" compared to tow bars from BMW, Mercedes, and other luxury brands.

The detachable receiver tucks away neatly when not in use - but you'll have to manually attach/detach it, unlike some premium European vehicles with electric options.
